Spooky Season - A Halloween Music Pack - 44 Tracks

Spooky Season is a 44 track Halloween score for games: the trick-or-treat lane and the pumpkin patch, a haunted manor room by room, the churchyard and the crypt, a battle set, the headless horseman and the witching hour. It is written playful rather than gory, and every track has a bass that tiptoes, the creeping detached bass of "In the Hall of the Mountain King".

The tiptoe, checked on the shipped MIDI. In every one of the 44 tracks, every bass note except the last is let go before the next one begins: it sounds for at most half the time until the next bass note. The bass is its own track in every .mid, named bass, played by tuba, acoustic bass, double bass, bassoon, cello or fretless bass depending on the track, so you can see it in any MIDI editor. We checked the 773 tracks of our earlier albums with the same test and none of them has a detached bass.

One family of 5 cells. Creep, Sneak, Boo, Cackle, Toll. Creep is two steps forward, a flinch back and one more step; Sneak is Creep upside down, for everything indoors and underneath; Boo opens Creep out with a leap of a fifth; Cackle steps up and straight back before it climbs; Toll falls a third and a third again, for the bell at midnight. 1257 statements and fragments of those cells across the album, counted by the harness in the finished MIDI.
