Saltline - A Voyage & Harbour Score - 42 Tracks
A downloadable asset pack
Forty-two tracks for a game set at sea, and not one of them is a shanty. The harbour at the change of the tide, the chandler's shop, the taproom, weighing anchor, four kinds of open water, three night watches, fog, the becalming, a three-track storm that escalates, the reef, the boarding, counting the living afterwards, the lighthouse, the wreck, and landfall.
It is built on one idea. The seed is a swell: it lifts a fourth, then rocks - down, up, down - which is what a hull does for the rest of the watch. Every other cell in the album is that shape under a different condition. Becalmed is the seed with the rise taken out, so it rocks without ever having lifted. Capstan is it squeezed into working rhythm, and it can run under a scene for minutes without tiring. Squall is every interval of it widened until the ship cannot settle. Undertow is it turned over, sinking where the seed rose. Landfall refuses to come back down the last time and lifts instead - the only cell on the album that resolves upward, and it arrives late.
That is not a description, it is a measurement. The seed is stated in all 42 tracks, 294 times, under 7 transformations, counted out of the shipped MIDI by a proof that ships inside the pack.
What is in it
- 42 tracks, 38 of them full pieces (not a stinger pack padded to a number) across 21 slots - title, four harbour, two chandler, two taproom, two underway, four open water, three night watch, two fog, two becalmed, three storm, two reef, two boarding, two aftermath, two lighthouse, two wreck, two landfall, an ambient bed, and four short cues (land ho, colours struck, lost with all hands, casting off)
- 53 minutes of music
- 42 x .ogg - 44.1 kHz stereo, ready to drop in
- 42 x .mid - the editable MIDI sources. Re-voice them, change the tempo, pull out a single line. Almost no music pack ships these
- Sample-accurate loop metadata - LOOPSTART / LOOPLENGTH in the OGG Vorbis comments, in samples, which is exactly what RPG Maker MV / MZ reads. 38 of the 42 loop
- Per-engine import notes and a royalty-free commercial licence
- Both proof reports, in the download
Why it is one score and not a folder
Forty-two tracks in 20 keys from 46 to 152 BPM, scored for 28 instruments across nine General MIDI families, and no two tracks share an instrument set. The three storm tracks escalate through 100, 132 and 144 BPM on the same cell, so a game can cross-fade them in order and the weather gets worse without the score changing subject. The becalming is written in lydian - the brightest mode on the album's darkest idea - because flat water in sunlight is not restful when you have somewhere to be.
Checked, not asserted
1,248 mechanical checks pass and none fail - 756 on the composition, read back out of the MIDI, and 492 on the rendered audio. Key membership against each track's declared mode. Voice leading with zero parallel fifths or octaves. Every note inside its instrument's real playable range. No clipping. Loop seams where material actually sounds across the join, with the loop tags read back out of the shipped bytes. Both reports are in the download, so you can check the numbers rather than believe them.
What those numbers do not claim. They establish that the music is technically sound - correctly written, correctly rendered, correctly tagged. They are not a claim about taste, and no automated check can tell you whether a melody moves you. Four full tracks are free below, with their MIDI: the seed stated plain, flattened by a calm, torn open in the squall, and resolved upward at landfall. That is the album's whole argument in four tracks. If you cannot hear that those are the same tune, do not buy the other thirty-eight.

Royalty-free for use in commercial and non-commercial games, films and videos, with no attribution required and no per-title limit. You may not resell or redistribute the files as a music pack.
