Wildmark Actions 04: Roll and Guard — dodge roll & block sprites, 4 directions, 128x128 & 64x64
A downloadable asset pack
A dodge roll and a block for the Wildmark 01 party, in every facing. The elf, warrior, mage and rogue get the two defensive moves an action game asks for: 64 new animation cycles, 432 frames per grid size, at 128×128 and 64×64. Every roll and every guard opens from that character's own shipped idle, so they play straight out of sprites you already own.
What is in the pack
- Dodge roll (12 frames): seen from the side, a dive into a low curl, a full tumble over the head and back, and up onto the feet (lowest point 29-48% of standing height). Seen head-on, a fast duck into a tight crouch and back up (down to 48-87%), because a roll straight toward or away from the camera hides its turn. Move the sprite along the ground while it plays.
- Guard up (6 frames): feet set wide, knees bent, both fists come up to block.
- Guard hold (4 frames, looping): the held block, breathing.
- Guard down (5 frames): the block lowers back toward the idle.
- All four in all four facings (south, west, east, north) for all four characters. Roll, guard up and guard down play once; the hold loops.
Who they are
- Elf — The ranger. White-haired and pointed-eared, in a teal tunic and travelling leathers, with a quiver of orange-fletched arrows worn high across one shoulder.
- Warrior — The shield. A broad bearded fighter in steel pauldrons and a scarred breastplate over a long dark tabard, a leather baldric crossing his chest.
- Mage — The scholar. An elderly figure with a long white beard in a floor-length blue robe and a plain belt — the tallest, narrowest outline in the party.
- Rogue — The scout. A young dark-haired traveller in a green tunic and short trousers, with a tall brown pack strapped high on his back.
Proof, not a promise
Every number below was counted by our pack proof against the decoded pixels of the files you download:
- Every .png really is a PNG: 928 files
- Every sprite is exactly one cell, every sheet a whole multiple of it: 928 files
- Every opaque pixel falls inside ONE 128-colour palette, the same colours as Wildmark 01's shipped sprites: 4,625,685 pixels
- Alpha is strictly binary (no anti-aliasing, no soft upscale): 26,542,080 pixels
- Every declared frame is mapped and present at both grids: 1,728 frame checks
Drops straight into your engine
- Godot 4: one SpriteFrames
.tresper character per grid, animations named and sliced, the hold set to loop (loaded and built by a real Godot 4.7 import before release). - RPG Maker, GameMaker, Unity, anything else: plain sheets in rows of south / west / east / north (RPG Maker order), every frame as its own PNG, and a
frames.jsonwith every rectangle.
Stated plainly
- No idle or walk is included: those are in Wildmark 01. This pack is the action states.
- The guard is unarmed. Nobody in the party carries a weapon or a shield, and the series' attack is a punch, so the block is made with the fists. No parry, sword or shield.
- The side-view tumble was generated toward a target we built (the dive's last frame turned upside down); that target frame is not in the download.
- 4 cycles are horizontal mirrors of the same character's east roll rather than their own generation: elf/roll/west (mirrored from east), warrior/roll/west (mirrored from east), mage/roll/west (mirrored from east), rogue/roll/west (mirrored from east). They are listed in the Readme.
The Wildmark series
- Wildmark 01: The Party — the idle and walk for these four
- Wildmark Actions 01: Strike, Hurt, Death — their attack, hurt and death
- Wildmark Actions 02: Four Facings — the same combat states facing north, plus the second rank
- Wildmark Actions 03: Everyday Verbs — pick up, interact, knocked down and get up
- Wildmark 04: Dragonkin — six dragonborn adventurers in the same palette family
