Verdant 09 — Town Tileset for RPGs: Street, Market, Housefronts & Gardens [16x16]
A downloadable asset pack
A market town you can lay out end to end — a cobbled high street, a market square, timber-framed housefronts under two kinds of roof, and hedged back gardens. 510 tiles at 16x16, every pixel inside one locked 90-colour palette.
The roof stops one row short, so the housefront is yours. Every roof autotile set ends one row above the bottom of the building, and that row is where the doors, the shuttered and leaded windows, the jettied bay, the shopfront, the flower box and the hanging trade signs go. A tileset whose roof runs to the ground builds a row of sheds. This one builds a street.
What is in it
- 28 terrain tiles — 7 materials x 4 seamless variants: mown common turf · cobbled street · dug garden tilth · clipped hedge · timber-framed daub wall · combed thatch roof · split-oak shake roof
- 376 autotile transitions across 8 complete 47-mask blob sets: street on common, garden plot on common, hedge on both, house on both, and each roof on the wall
- 37 distinct objects (82 tiles) — every one shipping transparent for your own ground and grounded on ours with the contact shadow already between them
- 3 animated objects (24 tiles) — a wall lantern, a smoking
chimney and bunting in the wind, four frames each, frame order declared in
tiles.json - A finished demo map as a picture, as JSON, and as a Tiled
.tmxyou can open
Engine-ready, and the importers were actually run
- RPG Maker MZ — an A2 autotile sheet (what MZ's own autotile brush
paints), plus B/C/D object sheets and a slot map. The A2 sheet is proven by a round trip through
MZ's own FLOOR_AUTOTILE_TABLE, parsed out of
rmmz_core.jsrather than copied: it composes correctly against MZ's own autotile table. (MZ is not installed on our build machine, so that is the claim — not "verified in RPG Maker MZ".) - Tiled — 13
.tsxtilesets, every one opened and rendered by Tiled 1.10.2's own tmxrasterizer and compared pixel-for-pixel against the sheets in this download. That is the CLI renderer, not the editor GUI. - Godot 4 — a TileSet resource loaded and verified in Godot 4.7.2, where Godot was made to COUNT and MEASURE rather than merely open the file: all 510 declared tiles built, every texture resolved, every region 16x16, every multi-cell footprint exact. Headless load and resource inspection — not the editor GUI, not a running game.
What is proven, and what is only measured
Most asset packs do not write this part down.
Proven exactly: every tile is exactly 16x16 and every sheet a whole multiple of it · every opaque pixel falls inside the declared 90-colour palette · alpha is strictly binary, so there is no anti-aliasing and nothing has been scaled, filtered or blended · all 8 autotile sets carry all 47 masks, checked as a SET of distinct masks rather than as a count, because 47 tiles with a duplicate and a gap still counts to 47.
Measured, not proven: every tile's wrap boundary is measured against its own interior and every 4x4 repetition is rendered and reviewed by eye. That test catches hard edge artefacts about 97% of the time and the commonest real defect only about 7% of the time, so we call it an honest floor and not a guarantee. You will not find the words "proven seamless" on this page. The 4x4 renders ship in the download so you can look for the grid line yourself.
It is designed to sit beside the rest of the series
Same 16px cell, same engine, and not one new colour — every tone here already ships in another Verdant pack. Deliberately not included: crates, barrels, sacks, wells, signposts and anvils, because Verdant Props already sells those and nobody who owns both packs should find the same barrel twice. The two are complementary by construction.

AI disclosure
Graphics: yes. The tiles are generated programmatically by a procedural engine written for this series — no diffusion model and no training dataset anywhere in the pipeline; the engine places every pixel on an integer lattice from a locked palette. The engine's own source was written with AI assistance.
