848 tiles at 16x16 for the layer below the dungeon: a lava channel, cooling crust, fractured basalt, ash fall, sulphur flats and volcanic glass, and the workings somebody left down there — a gate in the wall, a rail run and its cart, iron bridges over the melt, a cage, the stores. Commercial use permitted, in unlimited projects, with no attribution required; the one thing you may not do is resell or redistribute the pack itself.

Importers for RPG Maker MZ, Tiled and Godot ship in the download, and each was run by the engine it targets and made to count what it built.

What is in the download

  • 564 of the 848 tiles are transitions — 67% of the pack. 12 complete 47-mask autotile sets: every inner corner, outer corner, edge, junction and single. Completeness is checked mechanically on every build, because a 47-mask set missing three tiles is broken in your map and you find out while you are painting.
  • 6 materials on a measured value ladder, each with its own construction: glass in a few flat facets with a lit ridge, basalt as bevelled slabs, clinker as lumpy rubble, ash with a broken wind ripple, sulphur under a flat crackle, magma as glowing cells. The smallest gap on the ladder is 23.5 luma, measured from the emitted pixels.
  • 44 objects across 160 tiles — columns, crags, crystals in sulphur and glass, a rune-cut monolith, stalagmites, a portcullis, a ruined door, a cage, an anvil, chests, crates, sacks, skull piles, a bone fence, a minecart and a rail run in 7 pieces, and bridges for the melt. Each ships transparent, and grounded on every surface it belongs to with the contact shadow drawn.
  • 7 animated objects, 100 frames: a brazier, a lava fall, a hanging lantern, a lava geyser, a fumarole vent, a bed of embers and a bubbling sulphur pool.
  • Two finished sample maps — a 36x26 sulphur works and a 24x16 vent chamber — each as a PNG and as JSON naming every cell by tile id, the first also as a .tmx that opens in Tiled.
  • 24 4x4 proof renders, one per repeating tile, so you can look for the grid line yourself.
  • Every tile as a loose PNG and as packed sheets: 954 files in total.

The importers were actually run

  • RPG Maker MZ — an A2 autotile sheet (the page MZ's own autotile brush paints) plus B/C/D/E object pages and a slot map. It composes correctly against MZ's own FLOOR_AUTOTILE_TABLE: 12 of 12 sets, 564 of 564 masked tiles, and 576 of 576 shapes came back byte-identical.
  • Tiled — one .tsx per group, all 16 opened and rendered by Tiled 1.12.2's own tmxrasterizer and compared pixel for pixel with the shipped sheets: 1,024 sheet cells, 0 differing.
  • Godot 4 — a .tres TileSet, loaded and verified in Godot 4.7.2: 16 atlas sources, 848 of 848 declared tiles built, 112 of 112 multi-cell footprints exact. Every sheet is referenced by a relative filename, so the folder loads from wherever you put it in a project.

What is proven, and what is not

The grid is exact, the palette is locked to 69 colours, the alpha is strictly binary with no anti-aliasing, every tile carries a declared role, and every autotile set is complete — exact checks, run on every build.

Seamlessness is not on that list. Every tile's wrap boundary is measured against its own interior, and every 4x4 repetition is rendered and reviewed; grid, palette and autotile completeness are machine-proven. The renders ship with the pack so you can judge them yourself.

⚠️ RPG Maker MZ animates tiles only through its A1 page, so in MZ the 7 animated objects arrive as static frames on page E. Tiled and Godot play them.

It fits the rest of the series

The 16x16 Verdant packs are drawn from one palette at one cell size, so this layer sits under the others.
