A cozy farm that grows while you are away, and the only way to get new seed is to raid the wilds for it.

SEEDLIFT crosses a farming incremental with an extraction raid. At home you sow, harvest and cross-breed. Out in the wilds you walk a map that is different every time, pack what seed you can carry, and hold on in an open balloon lift to fly home before the storm rolls over you. If it catches you, you lose the pack, never the farm.

The two halves need each other. Raids are the only source of new strains. The farm is the only source of tools: sweetroot becomes LURES that pull a charging boar off its line, and smokeherb becomes SMOKE that scatters the crows trying to rob you.

Four places to raid

  • HEDGEROW. Field edges and hawthorn. Nothing here bites.
  • FEN. Bog that drags your boots, and crows that rob your pack.
  • OLD ORCHARD. Walled rows of old trees, and boars that charge in straight lines.
  • RIDGE GARDEN. A ruined botanic garden on the high ground. Everything at once, and a fast storm.

Each opens with a permit that costs coin and a number of strains in your codex. Deep in the last of them grows the centrepiece. Bring it home, grow it under glass, and watch it flower.

What you play with

  • 16 wild strains and 8 hybrids, 24 codex entries in all. Two different strains ripe side by side can cross when you harvest one of them.
  • A pack with slots and a weight limit. When it is full, walking over something better swaps out the worst thing you carry.
  • A storm and a rhythm. The storm crosses the map from the west. Balloon lifts open and close in turn, so the question is always which lift, and when.
  • A shop with 8 lines: More Field, Sprinklers, Compost, Bigger Pack, Field Boots, Oilskin Pouch, Farm Hands and Cold Frame.
  • Time away counts. The farm keeps growing for up to 8 hours while the game is closed, and farm hands can harvest and replant for you.

Controls

Mouse or touch for everything on the farm, with keys for all of it too (arrows or WASD, ENTER, Q and E, H, F, R, B, C). In a raid, walk with WASD or the arrows, or hold the mouse or a finger on the map. Hold SPACE in an open lift, Q throws a lure, E throws smoke, SHIFT dashes. P pauses, M mutes. On a phone held upright the game switches to a portrait layout.

Made for the Bezi Mega Jam

The theme was GENRE COLLISION: a farming incremental and an extraction raid, two genres that normally never share a save file.

Made with AI, said plainly: the code and the text were written with AI tools and checked before release. The plants, the wild objects, the balloon and the key art were generated as images and reduced to one fixed pixel palette; the farmer, the boar and the crow were generated as pixel art. The ground textures are drawn by our own procedural code. The music and every sound effect are synthesised by the game's own code. No AI audio.
