Verdant 41 — Taiga Tileset for RPG Maker MZ, Tiled & Godot: Snow, Spruce, Frozen River & Bog [16x16]
A downloadable asset pack
The boreal forest in winter. 345 tiles at 16x16 in one 55-colour palette: snow over everything, needle duff where it has melted back under the spruce, mats of reindeer lichen, a sphagnum bog, a frozen river with open leads, granite outcrops and a log cabin. Commercial use permitted in unlimited projects, no attribution required; you may not resell the tiles themselves as an asset pack.
What is in it
- 282 transition tiles in 6 complete 47-mask sets: duff in snow, lichen in duff, bog in duff, the river ice in duff, open water in the ice, and a raised granite outcrop with a shaded face, a lit lip and a cast shadow. Every inner corner, outer corner, edge, junction and single is there.
- 28 ground tiles: snow, needle duff, reindeer lichen, sphagnum bog, river ice, open water and granite, four variants each. The snow is Verdant 03 — Worlds's own, byte for byte, so the two packs meet without a seam.
- 13 objects, each with a contact shadow: spruce, snow-laden spruce, young fir, a dead snag, a fallen log, a stump, a granite boulder, a cairn, lingonberry, fly agaric, a woodpile, a log cabin with lit windows, and an ice-fishing hole. Transparent masters, plus each one grounded on snow and on the forest floor.
- A finished 36x24 sample map with every set on it, as PNG, JSON and a Tiled .tmx;
tiles.jsonwith every tile's role, sheet slot, mask and passability.
Engines
- RPG Maker MZ: every set on the A2 sheet as MZ's own autotile brush; every shape was composed back out of the sheet with MZ's own autotile table (288 of 288 identical). Tested against the table, not inside the MZ editor.
- Tiled: one .tsx per sheet; Tiled's own renderer drew the sample map identical to ours (884,736 px, 0 differ).
- Godot 4: one TileSet, loaded and verified in Godot 4.7.2 (345 tiles built).
Nothing in this pack animates. The GIF above is the sample map painted layer by layer (snow, then the duff and granite, then the lichen, bog and river ice, then the open water, then the objects), so each set's transition tiles appear where one ground meets the next. River ice on snow is not included here because Verdant 03 already ships it; this river runs through the forest floor.
The proofs
Every tile's wrap boundary is measured against its own interior, and every 4x4 repetition is rendered and reviewed. Grid, palette and autotile completeness are machine-proven: every tile is exactly 16x16, every pixel is inside the 55-colour palette, and alpha is strictly on or off.
More from the series
Verdant 03 — Worlds for snow, ice, desert and volcanic ground, and Verdant 28 — Deep Forest for the temperate forest floor.
AI disclosure
Every tile is generated by our own procedural drawing engine, which is AI-written software. No image model, no scraped art and no training dataset were used, and nothing was traced.
