SCRATCH-OFF TYCOON
Every coin you win, you rub off the foil yourself.
SCRATCH-OFF TYCOON is a free browser game about a night kiosk and a coin that wears down. Buy a scratch card and rub it with your coin. Every rub spends the coin: a plain coin clears only about half of a Gold or Platinum card, so every card is a small puzzle about where to spend it.
How a card works
- Rub a corner of a cell and it glints its colour: red is a cherry or a skull, gold is a bell or a crown, blue is a star or a gem, grey is a blank.
- Rub half the cell away and the symbol is revealed.
- Three of a kind pays. Four pays double. Every revealed skull halves the card.
- A cherry pays 4, a bell 7, a star 11, a gem 20 and a crown 34, times the card's multiplier.
So you peek, you read the colours, and you spend the rest of the coin on the cells most likely to pay. A careful player and a lucky one play the same card very differently.
The kiosk
- Five tickets: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and the Golden Ticket, which wins the game.
- A coin workshop with four upgrades: a harder coin that wears slower, earlier glints, a wider coin, and a charm that strikes off the first skull (two at level II).
- An album of twenty stamps. A full row adds 25% to every payout on that tier.
- Run the till dry and the kiosk closes for the night. You reopen with a small float and keep every upgrade, stamp and unlocked ticket.
Plays anywhere
- Mouse, touch or keyboard: arrows move the coin, hold Space to rub, C cashes in, Tab walks the buttons, Esc opens the menu.
- A wide layout for desktop and a tall layout for a phone held upright.
- Saves in your browser after every card, and Continue picks up mid scratch.
No real money is involved anywhere. It is a game about scratch cards, not a gambling product.
Paid, from the same studio
- DOWSER ($9.99): Minesweeper with no numbers; sweep a dowsing rod, read the ground by hand, dig the relics and leave the shells.
- GLASSWRIGHT ($9.99): run a medieval glassworks, where every window you complete is drawn by the game.
- MILLWRIGHT ($5.99): raise three windmills so every farm's cart has the shortest road.
